Albania discussed the law
The Albanian Constitutional Court has decided in recent days to suspend the controversial law on transparency, prohibiting a person who cooperated with the secret services during the communist regime the opportunity to access public office, inform Setimes. The courts have ruled that law enforcement would be a violation of the law and threaten the basic human rights.
The rule has been sharply contested by opposition parties and groups supporting human rights, even prompting criticism from EU, U.S. and the United Kingdom because in violation of international standards of democracy.

Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that it will adjust the decision of the Constitutional Court, however, calling it ‘absurd’: during a meeting with parliamentarians of the Democratic Party, Berisha said that it must be respected, although not shared.
