Albania Flag

The dismemberment of Yugoslavia started from Pristina where the Albanians through a popular referendum proclaimed their independence in order to be equal to the other Yugoslav peoples. For this had to suffer the harsh repression and violence of the regime that was at Belgrade.

At that were not a few politicians of Former Yugoslav Federation that giudicarono protests of Albanians of Kosovo attempts to safeguard the Federation dall’Egemonismo Serbian and the power of Slobodan Miloscevic that began to exert its power from its nationalist Kosovo against democratic will of this people to be free and equal to others.

We must also remember that the history of Serbia and Kosovo are between 1912 to 13, when the Kosovo and other Balkan territories Albanians were attached to other states region, is now in 2008 when Kosovo was’ proclaimed Independent, and is being known as a sovereign state, the real decision is taken from large countries and world powers.

During the period in which Serbia has had sovereignty over Kosovo and this sovereignty and ‘been recognized internationally, violence against Albanians who do not like this situation in some moments and’ was terrible. Today, however, that Kosovo is being recognized independent and sovereign does not threaten any violence against Serbs and the Serbian minority!

Finally I think it is useful to recall that very significant that says that those who forget the past history and to address its repetition as a tragedy.

I would say that the international will to recognize the independent state of Albania sparked the explosion of Serb nationalism and hatred European anti contributing to burst the First World War, a conflict whose proportions and no one had foreseen that fell on ‘ Europe unhuman tragedy.
